Tonja’s Place is a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to helping single parents and families regain their independence by removing one of the biggest barriers they face today: reliable transportation.
We provide refurbished vehicles, short-term auto insurance support, and access to certification and licensing programs that help parents get back to work, care for their children, and rebuild their stability with dignity.
Our mission is simple and rooted in compassion:
To empower families through access to reliable transportation, practical support, and pathways that open the door to new opportunities.
We believe every parent deserves the chance to move forward, provide for their family, and experience life without transportation holding them back.
Transportation is one of the biggest and least talked about barriers keeping families from reaching stability and achieving their goals. Without a reliable vehicle, families struggle to
• get or keep a job
• take children to school or daycare
• attend medical appointments
• complete workforce training
• overcome long term financial instability
A reliable vehicle is more than convenience. It is survival.
Tonja’s Place was created to bridge that gap by offering support that brings immediate relief and long lasting opportunity. This work is personal and rooted in lived experience.
Tonja’s Place was founded in honor of my mother, Tonja, a woman who fought hard, loved deeply, and always believed in helping others rise. My own life changed when someone blessed me with a reliable vehicle at a time when I truly needed it. That moment became the inspiration for this vision. If one car can change a life, imagine what we can do for an entire community.
Tonja’s Place is built on that same spirit:
