VEHICLE REFURBISHMENT PROGRAM

Tonja’s Place helps families access safe, reliable vehicles through our vehicle refurbishment program. We receive donated vehicles and purchase select used vehicles, then partner with trusted mechanics to complete repairs, safety checks, and preparation for everyday use.

Each vehicle is inspected, serviced, and matched with a family that is actively working toward stability. Families also receive basic guidance on car ownership, maintenance, and safety so they feel confident long after they receive the keys.

SHORT TERM AUTO INSURANCE SUPPORT

Many families are one step away from stability but cannot afford the immediate cost of auto insurance. Tonja’s Place offers short term auto insurance support so parents can drive legally and safely while they are getting back on their feet.

This support helps families keep jobs, maintain childcare, attend medical appointments, and stay consistent with school and work schedules. We also help families understand their coverage and plan for long term insurance options that fit their budget.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING SUPPORT

Transportation is not only about owning a vehicle. It also requires proper licensing and access to opportunities that improve income and stability.

Tonja’s Place supports parents with
• Driver’s license testing and reinstatement support
• Help with scheduling and paperwork
• Referrals to approved driver education resources
• Access to certification and licensing programs that increase job readiness and earning potential

Our goal is to remove the barriers that keep parents from driving legally and from accessing better employment opportunities.

FAMILY TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE

When a family does not yet have a vehicle or their vehicle is temporarily unavailable, everyday life can quickly fall apart.

Tonja’s Place provides family transportation assistance for situations such as
• Job interviews and new hire paperwork
• Childcare and school related needs
• Medical or urgent appointments

This program is supported by a dedicated Tonja’s Place company vehicle, which allows us to step in when transportation becomes an emergency. Family transportation assistance is designed for parents who are actively working toward independence and need short term support to stay on track.
