VEHICLE REFURBISHMENT PROGRAM

Tonja’s Place helps eligible single-parent families access safe, reliable transportation through our Vehicle Refurbishment Program. Donated and selected used vehicles are inspected, serviced, and prepared for dependable everyday use.

Each vehicle is matched with an eligible participant who is employed and actively working toward long-term stability. Participants also receive practical guidance on vehicle ownership, maintenance responsibilities, auto insurance, and the ongoing costs of maintaining reliable transportation.

TRANSPORTATION & INSURANCE EDUCATION

Tonja’s Place believes reliable transportation requires more than access to a vehicle. Participants need the knowledge and preparation to maintain that transportation responsibly.

Participants receive practical education covering:

• Auto insurance basics and coverage responsibilities
• Vehicle ownership and ongoing transportation costs
• Routine maintenance and preventative care
• Registration, inspections, and required documentation
• Budgeting for insurance, maintenance, fuel, and unexpected vehicle expenses

Our goal is to help participants become informed, responsible vehicle owners who are prepared to maintain reliable transportation after completing the program.
