Tonja’s Place provides transportation and auto insurance assistance to single-parent families facing barriers that affect their ability to maintain employment and care for their families.
Our program is designed for participants who are ready to actively work toward long-term stability and independence.
Participants are expected to maintain employment, required documentation, auto insurance coverage, and active participation throughout the program.
In addition to direct assistance, Tonja’s Place provides practical education to help families understand vehicle ownership, auto insurance, and the responsibilities associated with maintaining reliable transportation.
Tonja’s Place is not an emergency assistance program. Our services are provided through a structured program focused on accountability, stability, and sustainable transportation.

Tonja’s Place serves employed single parents who are the primary custodial parent or legal guardian of at least one minor child and are experiencing a transportation barrier that affects their ability to maintain employment and household stability.
Applicants must meet current program eligibility requirements and reside within the communities served by Tonja’s Place.
WHERE WE SERVE
Tonja’s Place serves eligible families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with a primary service area including Dallas, Denton, Collin, and Tarrant Counties.
Services are coordinated through community partnerships, referrals, and Tonja’s Place program resources.
